My name is Anya and I’m the creator & curator of a compendium of curious creatures made in wire and reclaimed materials. A curiosity cupboard!
I moved to Hereford in 1994 to study an HND in Design Crafts and never quite managed to leave the beautiful landscape I found here.
I am a twister of wire and words and like to work with traditional processes, so use a flour & water paste for the paper maché and prefer to use a reel of wire as opposed to chicken wire.
I work from a teeny tiny workshop in the garden which is stuffed to the rafters with boxes of bits and drawers of bobs. The creatures live in the nooks and crannies and cause mischief at night….. it’s either that or I’m a bit messy…....
Commissioning a piece of work is really exciting – it is a chance to have something made especially for you and an opportunity to really engage in the creative process.
Perhaps you need accessories to go with a particular outfit or a piece of furniture to fit a specific space in your home. We can work with you to design something truly unique. You’ll be able to discuss your ideas, likes and dislikes with the Maker and together create a piece of craft, handmade for you.
This is just a first step, so don't worry, there’ll be plenty of chances to discuss details before finalising a commission.
